THE EATING GUIDELINES

1. Eat when you are hungry.
2. Eat sitting down in a calm environment. This does not include the car.
3. Eat without distractions. Distractions include radio, television, newspapers, books, intense or anxiety-producing conversations or music.
4. Eat what your body wants.
5. Eat until you are satisfied. 
6. Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.
7. Eat with enjoyment, gusto, and pleasure.”

    The NEW symbol for a healthy diet makes so much more sense (to me) than the food pyramid ever did. In fact, when I first started to change my eating habits and visited a nutritionist she gave me her version of this exact idea.
Your plate should be 1/2 fruits and veggies, 1/4 protein (4oz), 1/4 whole grains. Also, choosing whole foods over processed junk and eating less in general are also excellent guides.
